Privacy Policy - Instant Web Scraper
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Instant Web Scraper Chrome extension ("the extension", "we") handles your data. In short: everything happens in your own browser. We do not collect, sell or share your data.
1. Single purpose
Instant Web Scraper extracts data that you select from web pages (tables, lists, products, links, images, contact details and page text) and exports it to CSV, Excel, JSON or Google Sheets.
2. Data the extension handles
To do its job, the extension handles the following data. All of it is processed and stored only on your device:
- Website content: text, links, image addresses, tables, emails and phone numbers that appear on the pages you choose to scrape.
- Web history (limited): the URL, title and time of pages you scrape, shown in the extension's Dashboard as recent activity, and the URLs you add to the Website Monitor.
- Your settings: such as your theme choice (dark or light).
The extension does not collect personal information about you, passwords, payment details, location, personal messages, or your general browsing history. It does not track your clicks or keystrokes.
3. How the data is used
- To show your scraped data in the side panel and Data Table.
- To save your recent tables so you can open them again.
- To export your data to files on your computer (CSV, Excel, JSON) or to your clipboard for Google Sheets.
- To check pages in the Website Monitor and notify you when they change.
4. Where your data is stored
Your scraped tables, recent activity and monitor list are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage. They are never uploaded to our servers. We do not operate any server that receives your data.
You can delete saved tables at any time inside the extension. Removing the extension deletes all of its stored data from your browser.
5. Network requests
The extension only makes network requests to websites that you choose, for example when you use Bulk pages, Follow pagination, the Website Monitor, or the Shopify and WooCommerce product export (which reads the store's public product data). These requests go directly from your browser to that website. No data is sent to the developer or to any third party.
When you use the Google Sheets option, the extension copies your data to your clipboard and opens a new Google Sheet. You paste the data yourself. The extension does not connect to your Google account.
6. Sharing of data
We do not sell, rent, transfer or share your data with anyone. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
7. Analytics, ads and tracking
The extension contains no ads, no analytics and no tracking code. It does not load or run any remote code.
8. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy (Limited Use)
The use of information received by Instant Web Scraper complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose and user-facing features described above.
9. Your responsibility when scraping
Please respect the terms of service of the websites you scrape and applicable laws, and only collect data you are allowed to use.
10. Children
The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
